Editing with 30 Tracks in Vegas

You better have a big monitor.

Anyways, if you plan to edit with more than two tracks you better have a solid organising system, otherwise you get lost. I would certainly get lost, every damn time.

Luckily I have a nice system. I sacrificed monitor height for the nobel goal: I use one track for one type of effect (or group of effets).

Let me give you an example:

Track 6: Picture in Picture 3 of a kind A
Track 5: Picture in Picture 3 of a kind C
Track 4: Picture in Picture 3 of a kind B
Track 3: BlueScreen
Track 2: Bluescreen Background
Track 1: General Important Footage

Of course normally I use a little more than that. Also there are a lot of audio tracks for narration, effects (like laughter) and music (both normal and under narration).

So this is what I call normal editing. In the office I still have smaller screens but luckily at home (where I work a bit more) I got fullHD (1920x1080pixel) monitors. I really like them. 🙂

Much like most people, I like to be all sorts of things.

P.S.: some of articles are edited and co-written by a mysterious person called Tatjana. But I take all the credit.
