Egypt and Back

The Film

The Story

Before making this film. I had never been to an Arab country. To consolidate my stupidity and ignorance in your eyes, I will (not very proudly) tell you that I didn’t even know Egypt is an Arab country. I traveled there to meet a friend and learn diving.

Of course, I couldn’t help talking to people and learn more and more about the country.

Please don’t think that I hate scientists or politicians, but these “experts” can’t really speak for the majority of a population. This film is about how everyday people perceive what happens in this country, how the people live.

The Opinion

You can find a lot of contradiction on the Internet regarding Egypt, and the Arab world. Some people hate their way of living, some people try to protect them.

What is the truth, if there is any?

This film tries to present Egypt from a new, innocent perspective: mine.

I’d like to think of myself as an open-minded, yet stupid person. I don’t know a lot about the world, but I like travelling and learning new things. As I wonder the world, people always try to influence me in one way or another.

Egypt and Back is the story of how my view changed over and over again about the Arab world.
