How to learn vocabulary?

Most people worry about vocabulary rather than grammar, which could be a mistake when learning a language. It doesn’t matter if you know all the words when you can’t make a sentence that makes sense.

Vocabulary is a big part of learning a language, but it has its place and it is not the beginning of your studies. You will learn new words, of course, by understanding the basic sentence structure and tense system of your chosen language.

At first it is not an expectation that you’ll remember all the words, that comes later, when you know all the grammar you need.

I think I should put a disclaimer here: my articles about learning languages are based on my experience, so they may not be applicable to you. Everyone requires a different method to learn a language. My goal is to give you something to think about.

So here it is again: learn grammar first, vocabulary later.

Much like most people, I like to be all sorts of things.

P.S.: some of articles are edited and co-written by a mysterious person called Tatjana. But I take all the credit.
