Tócsni, Lepcsánka and Macok


Believe it or not the titled food items are actually one. The name differs from place to place in Hungary. Generally it is a potato-based, cheap pancake sort-of thing. Using simple ingredients you can make it pretty easily.

  • potato
  • garlic
  • oil
  • flour
  • salt
  • pepper

Looks fun, doesn’t it?

So here we go: grind some potato, put oil and garlic in it along with flour and salt and pepper. Mix all of them thoroughly and then scoop some up, put it in a frying pan (no additional oil required) and fry it. YUMMMM.

DO NOT think about how much ingredient stuff you need: just grind the potatoes and then make a nice gooey dough. It should spread very well in a pan.
